Hi! Thick stoopid GD55 user requires info

Hi guys

I recently purchased a Panasonic gd55, alas it's on the Voda network and i'd like to adapt it to work on all networks.

My question is this. I've downloaded the calculater and entered the IMEI into and it's given me a screen with plenty of numbers and codes on it.

I've read this forum and see that it seems to be a fairly universal code to unlock them BUT....

how do I enter the code? and is there a star or hash key involved?

I switch the phone on minus it's sim card and i get to a screen that says

Please insert sim card and two tabs saying ''menu' and 'SOS' and thats it? ....Am i thick? doing something wrong?...any break by break way of doing it for dummies would be much appreciated.

Perhaps I should add that I purchased a cradle for this phone with a com port connection and it wasn't a particularly good fit and when attempting to get it to work the pins on the bottom of the phone where the battery sits on (small) have bent in. So if you're buying a cradle watch what one you buy?..I'm also assuming I don't need to cradle to unlock it anyway? Or is that what I'm doing wrong?

Thank you.

you must enter the codes exactley as it was given to you, yes you must input the star and hashs.
You dont need the cradle.

use these two codes with a different sim (non voda PAYG)
**00032*xxxxxxxx# then **00012*xxxxxxxx#
note x is the codes calculated by software

Hope this helps in future you need to search the forum using search this topic has been talked about a lot of times

Well that worked

and thank you very much.

I wasn't putting in the # key and so each time I entered a number nothing would happen.

All done anyway and thank you for your help.
