Question regarding Red Borders and Icons

Hi all,
Just upgraded the firmware on my phone (GD87) about 10 times (trying different ones, etc) I origanally had A22 as my firmware, & my friend has A39, what pissed me off the most was the fact he had room for 200 sms messages & had Tetris, but I did not like the Red borders & Icons he had on his phone (were both on UK vodafone) so I've finally ended up with A53, No Voda intro, No Voda on the idle screen, Classic Icons with blue background, 200 sms, Tetris, eeprom unlocked, & No camera shutter noise. But my question is how come I never got the Red borders with new icons? (thought this was part of the newer firmwares), I would have liked to have just seen it on my phone, even if I was not going to keep it.

Any ideas?

Thanks you guys, all those guides posted around here really helped me out........

Nocco

You can anytime remove ugly red menu with cb2000, and use the firmware you want.
