5300 v5.02 cant unlock - GSM-Forum

I have a 5300 from T-Mobile USA. Original software version rm146-147 5.02. I read the certificates, performaed and erase flasdh, then downgraded to 5.00 and wrote back the certificates. However when i write back the NPC certificate the phone does not boot up after this. I have done other T-Mobile v 5.02 before flashed with 5.00 then write certificates until IMEI ok then unlock. With this one since the IMEI is still corrupt BB5BOX gives an error when it tries to create the backup file with ' ? ' character in the IMEI. What i would like to know if the file could be given a proper name would the phone unlock even if all the certificates are not inplase and the pone has 123456etc imei. If so can the team modify the name of the autoback procedure to remove the illegal characters from the file name.

now first u have to repair imei and security data via ask to rpl service.then unlock ur phone

isnt there an easeir way. I have done this type of unit before. I have all the certificates backed up and i can get the phone working with good imei only it has version 05.02 software which is not unlockable. As soon as i put another version like 05.00 it stops working when i restore all certificates. I don't have the facility to do ask - rpl so i am trying my best to avoid this

i have done restore certificate as well but sometimes it doesnt work.got same problem with 6085 and n71 both unlocked after using rpl file.there is no other way
