please bb5box team, give us an option to disable the "pm 308 autobackup" funktion!

with this, we can unlock all unsupported phones, just with tricks....

1. Can we have a more detailed infomation for the second modification? first, a more detailed or clear picture for the modification. second, what is the normal solding temperature for the PCB like this. (sorry, I do not have any much knowledge on this area).

2. do we need to use ACP-12x after we have fixed the LM7805 stabilizer IC ?

Desolder Anode of diode (right side).
On Anode pin of diode you will solder output of LM7805 (search for PDF datasheet).
On the hole left alone (where was Anode of diode) solder input pin of LM7805
On the -(minus) pin of C26 solder Ground of LM7805 (check datasheet)

After this modification, no more use ACP-12x to supply BB5 Box. Use an adapter who give output somwhere between 6 and 9 volts. Plus in the middle of connector. If your adapter don't fit/match in BB5 Box ACP connector, cut the connector from your ACP-12x and wire this to your adapter.

For soldering use any cheap soldering iron or soldering station. If you can set temperature for your soldering equipament, put somwhere 400-450.

Or much better, find a friend who know something about hardware, soldering, electronics, show him this photo, messages and he will know what to do.

Thanks BB5box.org

it is much clear. Oh, just before you post. I asked my reseller about it. and he suggest that do not modify the box unless I got phone unlocking fault.

but I am not sure, what kind of problem will be caused by the power supply issue?

(sorry, just got the box. And have not got the microspe. So only unlocked few phones yet. not sure what the power supply problem wil be. )

If you will use ACP-12x and this have output voltage over that the marked one, you could damage phones. If you not want to modify, just supply BB5 Box with STABILIZED 5v and NOT from ACP-12x. And no more need modification.

What is the current should be for the 6 ~ 9 volts power supply?

Over 500mA is OK. It does not matter "how much" over, it could be 2000mA too and is OK.

NO, no more use ACP-12, please read again first post. After modify, supply with 6-9 volts.

If box is used without external power, box work like before. Modification is on external power path circuit.

If you pull 500mA through a 7805 will it not need a heatsink ? In my experience these 7805's get hot even at low power drain.

Also..I have not seen the diagram so obviously i cannot know this but are there 100nF capacitors on the bb5 box allready ?

Correct way is to do 100nF cap's on either side of the regulator, otherwise it sometimes does crazy things with the output voltage or even short circuit's ..

Hi all,

Has anyone tried this solution? What is the output of this charger? Is it stable? It would certainly be better than modifying the box.
