plus the spt is a FT232RL not a ft232r so I am not sure if that is why it doesnt work right after I reprogram with the R and not RL selected.

Please post here yourr box photo so we will know what file is good for what box.

Also what EPT file from Infinity support you have used exactly for your box ?

No I used the default.ept and modded the manufacturer name to the correct box type.
