Literally me reading this thread right now:

Flash g935U or g935T firmware for your build rev

here you go: https://updato.com/firmware-archive-...A1FA163EE8F90B

Verizon LTE postpaid come unlock out the box, EXCEPT for Total Wireless/Xfinity (verizon MVNO or prepaid)

For CCT - Xfinity you DO NEED TO READ CODE, in future always check with another carrier sim FIRST to see if device REQUEST CODE.

Check IMEI if blacklisted, check sim, dial *#0011# after flashing another firmware (VZW disables dialer codes) and make sure MIPI PASS

Bro I see you are not new on this forum, almost A DECADE OF MEMBERSHIP!

Were you high or something?? lol

It good to check thread on this forum before embarking on risk you are not sure of. You just waste some cash but experience money can’t buy is gained

Before even starting to work on the phone you should have checked this screen for MIPI status, fail means hardware issue like FEMid chip problem.

The way to fix is to flash combination and resync efs, that sometimes fixes it but usually only if the device is reporting NON-FATAL MIPI ERROR, I've had one g950u that said TUNER MIPI FAIL and that one couldn't be fixed with the efs resync method, but yours might be able to.

To resync efs it's a dialer code in combination..*#33725327#, if done correctly you will NOT LOSE IMEI BUT BE VERY CAREFUL- DO NOT ERASE EFS

Can anyone say what is up with these phones suddenly getting MIPI fail out of nowhere??

Prsctt 02-12-2018 20:33

MIPI is extra layer of protection enabled by samsung to verify hardware in this case the charge connector, which handle USB/UART over same connector.

They force disable network on hardware level exactly same as for IMEICERT fail on MIPI fail on new devices.

Some of qcom samsung can be solved with erase backup & restore backup option via ##33725327# need combination firmware or bypass knox with gcpro.
Careful do not erase efs its not going to fix MIPI it will fail IMEICERT if any one do so.

Yes, you have written what I have stated in previous post but with different wording. Anyway this is correct except you said it's hardware verifying the charge usb connector which is weird assumption.

For example I have an s7 that has burnt out charge port - no charge or data working on it, so can only charge with wireless Qi pad, however service still works and MIPI pass.

Other users have stated that FATAL MIPI Fail can be fixed by replacing a chip, the FEMid IC on the board, I guess it's responsible for tuning the antenna or establishing some part of the baseband's communications to the antenna and when it goes bad this error occurs.

Go search on xda and on this forum in different sections - MIPI FAIL and you will see the various discussions going on about how to resolve this problem.

blackie06 02-13-2018 16:06

apparently this problem integrates with the network so there is some relevance with the efs file, and if I have some mechanic improvement, I will give you the information
