This would be my first phone flash of any kind. I have no idea what I am doing, and I have a few questions. I am trying to change the IMEI of a gt-i9300

1. Is there anything I need to buy in terms of hardware? I only want to write an IMEI.

2. What, if I do need to buy something, is the cheapest I would find it in the U.S.?

3. Can I purchase software only if I do need a license? I would like to avoid shipping costs.

Well if you don't have any service boxes for Samsung then you are not able to do it yourself. Buying an activation will not work because you need a smart card and a reader box for it to use software. Without the hardware there is no way to use software. If you really want to do it you can buy Z3X box or SPT box they will do the job.

Also in US it might be ( almost certainly ) illegal to change IMEI. Be careful and stay behind the borders of legality.

If you are an end user boxes cost very very very much. I'd do it for you if you were living in Turkey but in US I don't know anyone who does this job.
