< How to ROOT i9000 2.3.6 for unlock >

DOWNLOAD THIS FILE: CF-Root Download

  1. Extract the rooted kernel from the ZIP file you downloaded. You will get one file after extracting: CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVU_2.3.6-v4.3-CWM3RFS.tar.
  2. Launch Odin3 on your computer.
  3. Turn off your phone.
  4. Reboot your phone into download mode by holding down the Volume Down key and the OK button simultaneously, then pressing the Power button.
  5. Once the phone is in download mode, connect your phone to your computer via the USB Cable.
  6. Odin3 should be able to detect your phone. If so, the ID:COM field in Odin3 will turn yellow. If not, your phone was not properly detected and you should not proceed.
  7. In the Odin3 window, click the PDA button.
  8. Select CF-Root-XX_OXA_JVU_2.3.6-v4.3-CWM3RFS.tar.
  9. Under “Options” in Odin3, make sure “Repartition” is not checked.
  10. Click the Start button in Odin3. The program will start flashing the update file to your phone.
  11. Your phone will automatically reboot after Odin3 has finished flashing the update.
  12. Disconnect the phone from the computer only after it has completely rebooted.
Your Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 should now be rooted. You’re now running Android 2.3.6 XXJVU firmware with root access on your Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000.

NOW YOU CAN UNLOCK WITH Z3X NO MORE NEED DOWNGRADE TO 2.3.5 OR LOWER!!

Hit thanks if you like

I know you solved your problem by flashing, next time, just remove your battery for a few minutes. Somtimes it works and sometimes not. If it works, it saves on reflashing.

Check this post and you'll see a solution. > [HOWTO] [REF] (un)root your SGS I9000 the easy way (keep all your data) (Eclair 2.1) - xda-developers
