Yes. same here. Switch phone to diagnostic mode, install drivers android, root phone , only then you can unlock phone

Mr Blang, with all the respect you deserve, I not a noobie here, if I posted that is because the phone was already rooted, diagnostic mode enabled and all drivers installed.

Samsung Tool v14.4 (without root)

How to:
- Cable UART C3300K
- Select com port box in ST software
- Press *#7284# and select "Modem"
(Only show one option interface "UART")
*default setting: "PDA"
- Press *#9090# and select "4 - DM over UART"
*default setting: "DM/DUN over HS-USB"
- Press "Unlock"

Sorry, but but lets not talk offtopic things,
every day samsung released new firmware and things changes. So not importat who is noobie or not.

I have i9500 2 weeks in my hands and i sure software working well.

Just check this:

How to fix ?ADB Device is listed as offline? on android 4.2.2? | WugFresh

If you press only one time [accept],android device will go offline after first acces to phone. For unlocking need few request. So just simple way, reconect phone and just choise [never ask].

I sure problem will be solved.
Even if problem will still exist on your side, contact to me via sonork 100.111111 and i will check where is problem.

ADB is not a problem anymore since I have updated it everywhere in the PC to latest version.
