i9300 unlock...im confused - GSM-Forum

i decided to take the plunge yesterday and unlock a i9300 on 4.3......here is my confusion....i decided to downgrade to 4.1.2....tried 4 different 4.1.2 roms and the phone imei changed to a 0049 imei, put back to 4.3 an it came back to normal.....WHY DID IT DO THAT WHEN I DOWNGRDED. next confusion, all i read is the i9300 will muck up imei and network if unlocked on 4.3 ....so i thought what the heck just do it....i did do it with 16.9...and unlocked no problem with all features working as should....could it be the version of 4.3 i flash with ...it was I9300XXUGND2_I9300MBCGND1_I9300XXUGNA8_HOME.tar.md 5 or was it the version of root i used ...which was CF-Auto-Root-m0-m0xx-gti9300....

my thoughts are now to reflash any i9300with the above firmware and root with the above version and unlock

I WOULD REALY APPRECIATE ANY ONES APINION...

cheers for that, but the method i have done i dont need to repair anything..my main question is, is it only certain version of rom 4.3 that will unlock with no problems. because what i did above would tell me i can unlock any 4.3 with z3x and have no network or imei problems(and we know thats not true). or was i just lucky with flash with above rom, root with above file, and direct unlock ......
