Member: 454914 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 54 | Using the unlocking devices is legal. As the petition signed and submitted to POTUS in 2014/2015, unlocking your phone is legal. The only concern is 'Can we change IMEI?' the answer may be "No". I am seeing a lot of commercials on e-bay that says 'Remote IMEI repair", and I am sure they are using these devices on this forum together with remote USB accessing programs. So the answer for your question is "It's legal to use these devices, but it's illegal to alter the IMEI of phones" |

Member: 1670851 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 267 | also every time u update box version, window pop up saying that in many countries changing imei is illegal, and "repair imei" option is/should be used only to restore original imei,not change imei of blacklisted/lost/stolen phones. and like rasbilly said, using unlocking device is legal, apart from mentioned above... |

Member: 2599222 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 0 | After i posted it here i've kept researching it over internet and they all said what you all basically said right now. So basically under the name of changing imei is not legal but however you can restore and repair the imei and get rid of google accounts and make any phone basically with any other carrier ( unlock it ) is legal. |

If you change IMEI this is not legal in 99% (Only some country ignore this). -- |
