Hello if you can avoid rooting a phone do it at all costs. When you root the phone you are going to set off the binary counter and when the customer goes to update the phone later on he wont be able to because the status will be changed to modified. I especially would never use junk programs like kingo root or vroot on any of my customers' phones. It takes one minute to downgrade the modem and another minute to flash the original modem back at the end. Why waste any extra time rooting a phone if not necessary.

I have been using the modem downgrade method for awhile now on 4.3. However, I'm starting to get a lot of phones with 4.4 on them that I need to downgrade the modem, but when I put mdl on the 4.4 units, the phone is so laggy that it is literally unusable and even when I do get it all set up (set it to modem and dm over uart) I go to z3x box and it can't find the phone. Is it the version I'm using? I'm on version 17.0 for my z3x software. I don't know if the version is the problem though since when I load mdl onto the phone, it lags really bad like described before. This mdl file and the 17.0 z3x software has been working for me for a few months now to unlock 4.3 phones, but have run into this roadblock with 4.4 phones. Any suggestions?
