This handset runs Android Kitkat, so Have you tried to get root with Towelroot?.

FYI Towelroot don't work.

Used THIS recovery to install latest SuperSU. Old insecure-rooted kernel method for T399 don't work as for T399 only exists JB roms and kernels are incompatible.

i did unlock it and still request unlock code, put 00000000 and nothing, what more can i do?

I have this metropcs phone that I would like to use in t mobile. I am computer literate but never rooted a phone. I would appreciate if anyone can send me a pm with detailed instructions or post it here so I can try. Ofcourse i understand I may run risk of bricking my phone.

Hello,

Here is the info needed to Root and unlock T399N Running 4.4.2 T399NUVUANH1

use Odin to Flash twrp-2700-gardaltetmo

Flash SuperSU using TWRP update-supersu-v214

Then use Z3X 18.1 select T399 and click on unlock!

I'd like to get this T399N rooted but I recently received an update from carrier and am now running T399NUVUANK3 as opposed to T399N Running 4.4.2 T399NUVUANH1.

Before I even start the process and potentially brick the phone, will the procedure mentioned above still work on this build?

This is a MetroPCS phone, BTW, not TMobile.
