I have a UK I5500, which was O2, and I've tried to reflash but I am now stuck in the boot loop. I suspect the reason I have got to this point is because I didn't root before running Odin <via instructions here: http://forum.xda-developers.com/showthread.php?t=781149>

Basically rather than looking for a modded ROM, all I was after was reflashing the device to stock 2.2 (or any stock ROM) as it was locked without the owner knowing the passcode or google account to unlock.

I've tried recovery mode, and tried connecting to Kies, but to no avail.

Can anyone help me get away from the boot loop, how to reset the phone (possibly back to factory) or how to no go ahead and flash successfully?

Any help would be greatly appreciated.
To answer my own question - went back and tried Odin a few more times - and when I UN-checked the auto-reboot flag it worked first time, just in case anyone else out there is having the same issue.

great thread - really informative, the only limitation in reflashing my phone was my own lack of knowledge!
