I just did a Samsung i717 with 2.3.6 Rooted
Choose samsung tool 12.1 and select i727
And connect phone as port, Choose port and then Happy Unlocking!

*#7284# (select Modem for both options)
*#9090# (select USB Diag, then turn on USB Debugging Mode)
