Connect power on phone to USB
In menu Application turn on Developer mode

Read info OK :Done with Samsung Tool ver 12.5

We need manually root phone from microSD card:
Copy root.zip direct to microSD card /without folder!/

Insert card to phone. Run recovery menu : Up volume + home + power button. Select "update from SD card" and select root.zip with home button run, next set "reboot" . Phone rooted

Last step connect power on phone to z3x and "Unlock"

I try only on s5830 and S5839i . I think that other models are supported too.

First post is all you need to unlock the phone.
1. Select USB Debuging
2. Root with root.zip
3. Unlock with z3x

Normal USB cable is all you need.

Install Samsung drivers from z3x support: SamsungDriverPack_1.3.exe
Maybe this is your problem. They are not the same like Samsung Kies drivers.

There are different modells , i think the 5830 has qualcomm and 5830i-5839i has broadcomm cpu -and need to root manually.
