yes correct i got the same device today ATT(G965U_G965USQU1ARB7) same firmware version as your (also asking for network code) and when reading code with version 31.3 it hangs as well on Reading Data From Phone...and the device will reboot and say on the screen in read (SUBSYSTEM CRASHED MODEM!) with same more written in other colors

1-install the latest drivers from samsung 1.5.65.0
2-dial *#0808# and select RMNET + DM + MODEM and press restart
3-enable usb debugging from developer options.

also try another cable and computer

ok it finally got it to work on WIN7 32BIT
1.install fresh installation of version 31.3
2.activate switch to better version
3.2-dial *#0808# and select RMNET + DM + MODEM and press restart
4.Do read code and no more hanging.
