Simple question about IMEI masking vs actual edit

Before purchasing the z3x or any other box, I have a question regarding an IMEI edit.

It seems as though it isn't mentioned here, maybe for legal reasons, but, this I think is very reasonable request for information.

I have an s3 with clear IMEI. I wanted to edit the IMEI so I rooted and used the XPOSED framework software ad IMEI changer. This worked to a point. It seems as though it just MASKS the real IMEI. For example, if you press *#06#, it would show the IMEI that I changed it to in the Xposed framework software, but, if I read the phones NV files after changing it, it still had the original IMEI on it. Also, I noticed that in the about phone section in the Android OS, I would still see the original IMEI.


So, as a question of support, would this type of box (weather it be the z3x, octo, bts, etc..) actually change it in all places in the phone and not just "mask" it?

what is your s3 model? if is i9300 you can repair any imei with z3x box and patch cert (best box in gsm forum)
but if is i9301i or i9300i you can only write cert file for repair imei. no let you for change any imei.

you mean if you change imei it will show real imei on telecom company

box supposed to repair and restore to real imei , not change for illegal stuff

if you have mentioned boxes you will do every thing.

It in your disposition to do what you want with phone, but as Z3X team warn about IMEI changing.
