UNLOCK INSTRUCTIONS:

Micro-USB cable:
1. Phone must be powered on.
2. Type *#0808# and select 'DM+MODEM+ADB'.
3. Type *#9090# and choose 'DM/DUN over HSIC'.
4. Reboot phone.
5. Connect USB cable, install drivers if needed.
6. Select Samsung diagnostic port in port settings.
7. Press 'Unlock' button for direct unlock.

Software version: 21.5

Check carefully which version 5.0 you have because if you have the last one, you can't downgrade.
You can unlock it, but not with the boxes.

and if he bricks it, you can repaire it?
I've worked for a few hours to restore a custom because no official BOD3 firmware on sammobile.
It has locked bootloader to downgrade. Pls check on xda if you don't believe me.

Sammobile isnt the end all be all of firmwares. Theres other places to source it from (ive even ripped it from KIES days before anyone had it).

And there is no locked bootloader as far as i know. A locked bootloader would prevent you from loading a custom recovery.

Ecs87 I respect your knowledge about gsm and Android, but you don't need always to be politically correct!
You preferred instead of saying locked bootloader, to say signed partitions preventing downgrade. Ok this is real deal. But our colleague here asked about unlock and other very confident suggested a wrong solution like he tested not like MAYBE it will work.

1 month ago when I had this phone to unlock (and yes, I succeeded) there was no update on kies for bod3. It was only an OTA update. Now maybe it is on kies. This I don't know.
But again, not everybody knows how to do this.
So we need simple answers so that can be followed without risk. This is my view about helping others. Not to put them in a risky situation.

Good day, i have tried numerous times to downgrade the firmware from BOD3 but no luck, is there anyway to downgrade or unlock without downgrading by chance? Any assistance will be greatly appreciated, thanks.

Politically correct? You mean just plain ole correct? Saying a phone has a locked bootloader when its only a secured bootloader is totally off base. Its like saying you have a turbocharged car vs a supercharged car. Two completely different systems that people believe work the same. One runs off the engine directly, the other runs off the engine's exhaust gases. One provides instant boost, the other takes time to build it up. A secured bootloader prevents you from downgrading to a old revision (to prevent stupid users from doing stupid stuff to their phones) and a locked bootloader prevents custom code from being stored (again to prevent stupid users from doing stupid stuff). Same end result, completely different ways of achieving it.

Besides, anyone who has done their research on Sprint phones know that they cannot be currently unlocked over adb or the QC diag port. Hope you know someone who is skilled at java.
