Solution How to disable handset code, when menu is not available. Open Blackberry Desktop Manager Then Go to Start Menu - Run Type in regedit and press enter Click on the plus beside HKEY_CURRENT USER Now click on the plus sign beside SOFTWARE Now click on the plus sign beside RESEARCH IN MOTION Now click on the plus sign beside BLACKBERRY Now click on the plus sign beside POLICY MANAGER Now, in the right hand window, right click anywhere on empty area Select NEW - STRING VALUE and type in the word path in lowercase letters and press enter Now double click this item Where it says VALUE DATA, type in C:\berrycode.bin (Make sure this is uppercase C and \ , not / ) Now, download the file from HERE Save this in your C drive DO NOT save it in My Documents DO NOT save it in a subfolder in C Do NOT save it to your Desktop Now, connect your Blackberry with Desktop Manager running If you are asked for the password, enter it Now, go into settings and security on the phone Using the side roller, you should now see the disable otpion Select disable BUT .............. MAKE SURE you save this!!!!!!!! Using the ESC key under your roller, go back out of the menu and you are prompted to save, discard or cancel SAVE!!! Now you are ready to unlock your phone Close Desktop Manager and run the unlocking software and start again |
