3GS Always recovery after flash/ireb - GSM-Forum

Hi to all,

got myself an iphone 3GS on recovery mode, and tried to kick out of this state with firmware umbrella, but greenpois0n payload didn´t do the job. tried as well with ireb and redsn0w, none of them could fix recovery. so, got device´s ECID with redsn0w, and looked for its blobs, no shsh were saved on cydia, so decided to flash 4.1 on it.

flashed 4.1 custom deactivated, all went fine, but still, phone got in recovery mode. tried again with redsn0w, then firmwareumbrella, then ireb, but still the same. to make sure phone has a problem, flashed it with stock 5.1.1, no errors, but after is still went to recovery mode.

downgraded it back to 4.1, ran ireb, but still the same. do anyone have any ideas of how I can kick out of recovery?

if your set is itune after i rib then reflash your phone more 1 time and after use i Rib your problam will b solv 100%

Your auto-boot = False at the env.
use Irecovery with command at Terminal as following

setenv auto-boot true
saveenv
fsboot

do it 5-10 time, to be sure env written to true

then at end write
reboot
your device will reboot hopfully in true mode

Notice, when you start irecovery it will test for you all env check if there are no panic. as it is no panic cause you can restore with itunes.

great idea! but do irecovery connects with 3gs new bootrom? I though it was only for 3g/2g, used it some times long time ago... anyway, I´ll set up lib2usb in a xp laptop to try it out. thank you for your thought.

Its work either on Iphone 4 to set env.

it kind of worked... after irecovery it stopped booting into recovery, but does not complete boot also. it hangs on the apple, with "loading" animation, and then restart, like a tethered boot.

if you tried all the software solotion and its not fix try to power the phone with out tha cable of speaker try it and post result

[ Problem Solved! ]

with dock ribbon disconnected, problem remained. but when I powered it on with just a test lcd (without lcd,frame,touch etc), it got up! now I know it´s a weird problem with lcd or digitizer, gonna test them, but phone is working.

it´s funny how things that apparently have nothing to do with the situation may be the cause.. thank you very much for bringing such tip up!

i had the same problem!
The problem is the home button is stuck and the phone always starts in recovery! check the home button, home button flex, charging flex!
