you must to update the basebande if you want unlock..bb5.14 is not to unlock...

download redsn0w 0.9.5b6
mark install cydia and ipad baseband
fallow steps untel finish
install ultrasn0w from cydia and you are ready

wthout update baseband no benefit of unlock bcs it shows searching or no service. so update baseband is necessary
