this is some thing very wired i think coz i try some thing to get Iphone ECID i use this one USB VIEW it uses the recovery mode only after this process u need to kick out the recovery u can even use tiny umbrella for this

now get back to tiny umbrella select the advance option and put your ECID in the ECID bar select the firmware 4.0.1 and of course cydia click save my shsh u get the confirmation in no time see by ur self in explorer of tiny umbrella u got the shsh of 4.0.1 now

start the tss server and flash the firmware 4.0.1

no modification of files are needed using this method

OK here's what I know, shsh blobs is coming form apple not from cydia.
It is a unique ID generated by your idevice, and only apple can generate it that's why they can stop the signing of certain firmware or OS.
ECID is like the name of your device in order apple can identify it, and generate it's own unique shsh blob, which in kind will be saved to cydia if in case you want to saved it for future used.
I repeat again even the dev team or notcom who created umbrella cannot generate the special shsh blob of your device and also CYDIA is not a shsh blob generator, it is a server to save your shsh blob.

If you understand this, it is impossible what you are saying, maybe you have saved your shsh blobs before, that is why you can downgrade it back to 4.0.1.
