Unhappy After dropping iPhone 4S, overheated, then shut off and will not turn on again

My friend dropped her iPhone 4S causing the screen to crack, but the phone was still working. But not long after that (minutes), the phone got really hot and it switched off. Now it will not turn on again.

I replaced the battery and when I turn on the phone, nothing happens but it gets very very hot, right around where the processor (and the flash memory) is. If I reseat the battery, the phone cools off but as soon as I hit the power button, it heats up again.

I also connected another screen (without disassembling the phone) but that made no difference.

Can this be repaired?

Addition: I completely disassembled the phone to replace the screen, reassembled it but that didn't make any difference. It still won't switch on and it gets very hot.

I just rechecked what it is that is actually getting hot and it is the Power Management IC.
