always DFU mode after reboot i3gs 4.2.1

I all so have the same problem, iphone 3GS 4.2.1. I jailbroke it first with redsn0w then restored with hacktivate custom firmware useing the tinyumbrella/ireb method now im stuck in DFU mode ? dose Anyone have any suggestions or solutions?

just use redsn0w and hit "just boot tethered right now and u will be fine,
but then u cannot turn of yr phone it will be stuck in dfu mode again!"

Hi,

Use redsnow tool select your firmware, then when it asks if your iphone is the new version 3GS say yes

continue to next screen

now select just enter pwned dfu mode right now

click next

follow what the screen tells you

now your iphone will be in pwned dfu mode


you can now update it with custom firmware via itunes!



you will need a custom iPhone 3GS 4.2.1 firmware with iPad baseband

if you don't already have this you can make it with pwnegtool 4.2



I just fixed 2 iPhone 3GS with the same problem yesterday like this

You cant turn off phone because its Tethered JB use latest GreenPoison to Untethered JB.

I have the same problem, iphone 3GS 4.2.1, i jailbroke with redsnow and added 6.15 Baseband. Then put the phone in pwnd DFU mode and installed sn0wbreeze 4.2.1 custom firmware and now im stuck in DFU mode. I have been trawling the internet for solutions for days and i cant get it to do anything! when i plug it in itunes pops stright up with iphone has been detected in recovery mode, thats all i can get it to do!


If i put a 4.1 custom firmware on it, will it still have the 6.15 BB so i can unlock it UNtethered ?

Anybody got any suggestions?. . . or a solutions ?

Best ever solutions it's to open iPhone remove battery for 5 minuts and back again battery,if needed to restore go restore with custom restore 4.2.1,i tell you from my experienc with more iPhone 3gs with same problem.

all re done. but after tethererd boot my phone stuck again in dfu mode in a minute (iphone 3gs 4.2.1 baseband 05.15.04)

flash your 3gs iphone with 4.1 original firmware, during flash error 1015 comes, no worries, use recboot and hit exit recovery. your phone revive 100%.

i tried with 4.2.1 , 3.1.3, 4.1 also but failed again. after restore goes to dfu mode. their r only option for me to boot is redsnow boot tethered. after booting in 1/2 minitues it goes to dfu mode with bettery draning. then need to open battery.(i also tried with snowbreeze fw) Thanks.

1. Edit C:\Windows\System32\etc\hosts file and remove gs.apple.com xxx.xxx.xxx.xxx line
2. Close iTunes if open.
3. Restart network connection or computer.
4. Restore to stock/original 4.3.3 using DFU mode - HOLD power+home for 10 sec and then release power but keep holding home and wait 5 sec.After restore iTunes will show error but it doesn't matter.
5. Use latest redsn0w to jailbreak it.
6. DONE.
