Anyway to restore SMS messages from higher iOS to lower iOS? - GSM-Forum

I know you can do an upgrade and all your text messages will appear if you upgrade from iOS 5 to iOS 6.

Is there anyway to backup SMS messages from iOS 5 and restore on iOS 4 ?

jailbreak it and go /private/var/mobile/Library/SMS copy all files to your pc
after downgrade,jailbreak and past the files in same directory
install ifile via cydia then change pemission to 'mobile' for each file,if didn't work try root permission
restart iphone and voila

you can try to backup your SMS to your pc or mac,then you can store all you contents.
Know more about How to transfer or backup SMS from iPhone to Mac, which included the detailed tutorials of how to transfer your iPad 2 to your Mac. How to transfer music/photo files from Mac to iPhone.
Hopefully this works for all of you like it just worked for me!
