Can anyone of moderators make a sticky FAQ about situation in iOS4 ??? - GSM-Forum

There is 2 many threads and 2 many useless posts about jail/unlock in iOS4.

It will be verry usefull if we have FAQ thread about.

Personaly i have 1 question: can i unlock 3GS device with OS4 , MC model and boot 3.9 ( 6.4 in f0recast ) using windows with or without WiFi ??? i dont have SHSH backup .

Inexperienced users keep out of that thread

iOS 4 is unlockable through ultrasn0w 0.93 but you cannot jailbreak ios 4 in 3gs devices (at least in week 40 and upper made devices) so no sense in that...

What about unlocking without WiFi ???? For AFC2ADD intallation device must be jailbroken ?? Is it strange that in device manager i get iboot 3.9 but in f0recast i get 6.4 ??

You can unlock only 3g through Cyder 2 - without Wi-FI: I have personally unlocked 3 sets with this method, but it is hard method because you get errors in Cydia and you should restart the phone one or more times.

I have even downloaded some needed .debs from different sources that are needed for unlock such as afc2add, mobilesubstrate, and some other useful debs so that they are also automatically installed through Cyder2

And yes for everything to install to the device it should be jailbroken.
