You can jailbreak only iDevices till A4 chip on IOS 6.0.1
This jailbreak will tethered.

Search google for tethered jailbreak to understand logically.

TIP:
in short tethered means thats you have to always need a PC for any power cycle to keep it work.

4S have A5 chip and you can't jailbreak in IOS 6.0.1 at the moment
