you have downgrade your iphone from 4.2.1 to 4.1 first and then try again, it should work

all SW to kick the recovery will not work on ios 4.2.1...unless you successfully downgraded the IOS into 4.1, then it is supported to kick the recovery mode and the phone will be in state of emegency mode
