yes u can downgrade 10000000 % put ur iphone in recovery mode and then restore with 4.0 or 4.0.1 firmware to downgrade ur iphone............

this is the proper way to unlock iphone 3gs 4.0.2 from now on GSM is my world: iPhone 3g's firmware 4.0.2 -> Downgrade to 4.0.1 and unlock
this is tested by me 2 time's and posted by mphoeclinic, thanks to him
please give feedback after using this guide.
