Find carrier of Iphone 4 it is locked for. Help?

I bought iPhone from ebay but seller does not know the carrier it was locked for. I need to unlock it so i want to know the carrier it was locked fornand which country it was sold in:

Iphone model no. is: MC604B
Iphone IMEI no. is : 012646008174860

Please help me I contacted some unlocking service provider but he asked to find the carrier first and also the country it belongs to.

if u realy ready to pay......then contact any trusted person for unlock code he tell u provider and his unlocking charge

I paid someone $5 from whirlpool.net but he said that this phone is not in any carrier database. I think he just cheated me and he does not know hoe to do this work.

If anyone can help me, I would be thankful

Contact Apple Support, this can say whats Lock Provider this Phone

I asked apple india and they said it is impossible to tell which carrier it was supplied to

2nd it's from orange ( uk) but i'm not sure sorry

according to model number of the phone, it is from uk...

if you can jailbreak the phone, then do it...

lastly, use Subscriber Artificial Module (SAM) to know what network your phone is locked to...

Mate there is a simple way
If the phone is from the uk then use a uk sim card and connect to itunes
If the phone goes in emergency mode it means thats not the network the phone is locked on. If the phone stays normal and after putting the sim and connecting to itunes you can see the home screen then it means that thats the network the phone ia originally on

accidently i inserted orange sim nd it is working, are operater three and orange r same? it goes to emergency mod if any other sim is inserted.

is it locked on three or orange?

no both are different networks...

But problem is every card provider from
NL will not activate the phone ?
Because carrier not activated.
And when I look to warranty period
It ends on 2010 Augustus.
Strange because that is when iPhone 4
