bhara where are u based uk or out of uk there are 2 options u have to get factory unlock done.
if u are in uk it is cheap but if u are out of the uk its not cheap

im from uk.
currently im using the jailbreak method but it kills the battery as cydia is constantly running in the background
vodafone wont supply code until the end of the contract which is too long.
Places are charging £80 which is too much

You can close Cydia, it doesn't need to run to be unlocked. For tje battery issue: make sure you upgrade ultrasn0w to the latest release.

If Vodafone doesn't unlock it, then there's no official way to unlock. For no price. If someone else offers an unlock for money, you only get instructions on how to install ultrasn0w. That's quite worthless.

For iPhones, there are *no unlock codes*, like they exist for Nokia or so. It can only be officially unlocked on an Apple server. And if it's locked to Vodafone, only Vodafone can request that from Apple.

Cydia is an installer and is not related to the software ultrasn0w itself. You can remove Cydia from the task list without any problems. And by the way, if you close Cydia, it's not running anymore. What you see in the task manager list is the list of recently used programs, not only the running ones. If you want to see only the running apps, install "Remove Recents" software (free in Cydia).

I don't know the company mentioned above. They advertise an official unlock. Either that's a scam site and they only want your money, or they have a contract to unlock with Apple. I don't live in UK, so I would ask Apple UK if they are legitimate and can unlock.
