Fixed "Just Boot Tethered" - GSM-Forum

Hello Friends,

Had an iphone 3gs on 4.2.1 baseband 6.15 after jailbreak and unlock it always stuck on apple logo and has to use redsnow "Just Boot Tethered" for fully functional, but now its all ok by downgrade to 4.1. Here is a method i used to downgrade.

Note : Need shsh blobs saved for the firmware you want to restore.

1. Open redsnow 0.9.6rc7b
2. Browse for the firmware "iPhone2,1_4.2.1_8C148a_Restore.ipsw"
3. Click "Yes" in windows that appear after identifying firmware.
4. Click "Next" and check on "Just enter pwned DFU mode right now", phone on dfu mode now.
5. Open Tinyumbrelly and start TSS server.
6. Open Itunes, shift+restore and browse for the firmware "iPhone2,1_4.1_8B117_Restore.ipsw"
at a end of restore process there was an error 1015 and the phone in dfu mode, that had been fixed using tinyumbrella by "exit recovery"
7. At last Jailbreak with redsnow 0.9.6rc7b and unlocked using ultrasnow.

Now the phone boots ok without using redsnow "Just Boot Tethered" option.

Yep...you are lucy umbrella 4.1 blob saved user...rest of us...again have.. 3194 update error...

You ar lucky man...

but tinyumbrella dont detect phone in dfu mode, only its functional with recovery or emergency mode...
Please explain step 6.

if you dont save ssh to 4.1 your device will stuck in dfu mode(erreur 1015 in itune),
so every one dont saved ssh to 4.1 ,do not try to downgrade to 4.1.bcze you will lose yr time

it really can do to "exit recovery" the version 4.2.1?

its can exit recovery mode but not the dfu mode (error 1015 from itune)

i have tried above solution but after that set is in (dfu mode)

i was tried with redsnow but after reboot still in dfu

any other chance?

if your phone is MC model then this solution will not work..MC models have fixed boot and it will always be in dfu mode...even saving shsh will not help...if your phone is non-MC model then this solution will work
