I've had alot problems before this restore but i ended up restoring using the custom 4.2.1 firmware in this forum
After the restore this is what came up , after all the restoring MY PHONE DIDNT REBOOT AND I DONT KNOW HOW TO BOOT UP MY PHONE , PLEASE HELP !!!

first download i rebe r-3 and go to 2nd oppetion ok i phone is atuomatic active ok dearrrrrrrrrrrr

connect iphone into pc first..

hold power on button + home button in 2 or 4 min.

it didnt work , i even used softwares to kick in out of dfu mode , but nothing works , my iphone is restored to factory settings but its in BLACK . DEAD.

remove battery then just boost

after put again then restore iphone is ok...........

tested my iphone 3gs

disconnect your battery for 1 hour then open itunes and simply select 4.3 custom ipsw .and check this its working solution check and reply me.
