im new user of iphone plz help me

hi dear i have iphone 3g i have 4.1 firmware now i want to update it because when instal any app or games via itunes i get eror i have jailbreak it with 4.1 firmware nd also i use panda pc suite i get dep resource eror it sayas its too old plz update ur dep now plz tell if i update my iphone with 4.2 firmware so will be my problems solved will i be able to unlock it via redsnow 4.2 firmware

so plz answer i want to update dep nd firware 4.2 with redsnow nd unlock via redsnow
