How to fix iphone no Cellular Data Network (Solved)

is there any way to know the original carrier. i don't know the carrier and in setting>general>about carrier is not avalible.

yes i've the same thing i thing this problem came after u jailbreak with limeRa1n so my original carrier was AT&T i jailbreak and unlock after that Carrier NOT AVAILBLE but i can use as phone but can't use GPRS OR EDGE on my 4g 4.0.2.

any solution for 4.0 and 4.1 iOS? and still no solution if you can not see the carrier before starting the procedure. i guessed 3 or 4 carriers and modified the file but no luck

1. We must change with CommCenter Patch

Where to download the repository?
a) cydia.iphonemod.com.br (Right now the Repo is down)
OR
b) imatty.altervista.org / repo (I used this, the file is valid only for the 4.0.1)
(Install CommCentreNoSing 4.0.1 (ONLY FOR iOS 4.0.1))

2. Then RESTART

3. Now the Final part:

Either SSH to your Device or Just use iFile from the Device:

Go to::: System/Libraray/Carrier Bundles/ (YOUR CARRIER).bundle/carrier.plist

4. Edit the file carrier.plist with any plist editor (If you SSH from PC/mac) or directly using iFile through Device

After the Following Line

<plist version="1.0">
<dict>

Add:

<key>APNEditabilityTypemask</key>
<integer>5</integer>
<key>AllowEDGEEditing</key>
<true/>

After that you will find <key>CarrierName</key> , which will be there already

5. Restart AGAIN

6. Then Go to Settings >> General >> Network AND YOU WILL FIND Cellular Data Network..VOILA....

7. Enjoy !!!!

thank you very much for the info. It worked on iphone 4 AT&T unlocked and using it on vodafone egypt. Had to restart a couple of times before it worked. For people using iOS 4.1 please run this deb. Mine worked after installing this deb and following the instructions on this web site.

i found another site that just told me to enter (<key>AllowEDGEEditing</key>
<true/>). I did this using ifile this does work but my internet teathering dissapears (not too conserned about that) but then about a week later my data network settings go away. i check ifile and the editing is still there. so i have to restore and this is a pain since i have to rejailbreak. please help

hi. one important piece of info is mising from this thread.
if you activate the phone using redsnow, in settings, general, about you will get carrier not available.in this way, you will not be able to make this solution work. what you need to do is: reflash iphone, activate it with original sim (or with onesim programmed to your original carrier),then jailbreak, then patch commcenter.this way you will see the carrier in settings-general-about.
next, the easiest method will be this : navigate to /private/var/mobile/Library/Carrier Bundles/ in your iphone (using ifunbox or whatever) and delete everithing in that folder. then replace it with all the content of your carrier.you can find your carrier folder in /System/Library/Carrier Bundles/. this way, you will see that settings-general-about-carrier will change instantly to the one you want.reset network settings and you are good to go. this is tested by me on 2pcs iphone 4 4.3.3 , 1.59

It's old story to edit carrier file..now u can easily fix it by installing "apn editing" from cydia.

I have a Korean iPhone 4(GSM) iOS 5.1.1(9B208) BB 04.12.01 which is unlocked officially by my service provider (KT) but after jailbreaking it, I lost the ability to use my iPhone with a different SIM card which was working fine previously before jailbreak. Tried unjailbreaking and restored my iPhone and it was all good again. Rejailbreak my iPhone and the problem is the same. It's able to detect my SIM but when I tried to connect it to a network manually, it says that I'm unable to connect to the network because it's a restricted network. It keeps on showing "Searching..." or "No Service" on my statusbar??

Is there anyway to fix this? What is the problem actually? Can someone tell me what to do?
