Untethered Jailbreak

As long is it hasnt got the toshiba baseband chip then you need to downgrade to 4.1 firmware and upgrade baseband to ipad then unlock with ultrasn0w.

Tethered Jailbreak

Jailbreak with latest redsn0w and update to ipad baseband, then unlock with ultrasn0w

Just make sure you havent got Toshiba baseband chip if flashing the baseband!

this is a new bootrom 3gs
what about this

Apple has released a brand new iPhone 3GS that have a new bootroom this 28 weeks of 2011.
Version is 4.3.5 with baseband 5.14.
A lot of jailbreakers and unlockers have encountered that when you update this baseband to 6.15 to unlock it,
You got corrupted baseband and it cannot used anymore.
Symptoms are:
No wifi
No ECID
No Imei
No bluetooth

as of now all informations i've got is all serial up to XXX109XXX is risky to update baseband.

XX109XX = 1 is the year of 2011 and 09 is week 9 of 1 year.
so if serial is XX931XXX means 2009 with week 31.
and its safe to update baseband.

Much better check the serial first before you update to baseband 6.15

If your phone is from 2009 then its 100% safe to upgrade baseband, its only phones that have been made since week 9 of 2011 that have problems due to a new chip by Toshiba that Apple now use.

here is the solution to downgrade to 4.1, is for 4.3.3 but works to 5.0 too

I have same Problem with IPhone 3G ATT after unlock and update baseband
Symptoms are:
No wifi
No ECID
No Imei
No bluetooth

Should be careful !

New redsnow won't unlock it though, its just going to be an untethered jailbreak. You will still have to update baseband to 6.15 to unlock
