Howto downgrade iphone 4 ios 6.0 to ios 5.1.1 - GSM-Forum

i just upgrade my iphone 4 (unlock by SAM) from ios 5.1.1 to 6.0 last night
real nice "outfit" when trying ios 6.0 then,but luckly i wont be able do anything since its lock,and the BB upgrade to 04.12.02
when at ios 5.1.1 its 04.12.01..so i try to downgrade to ios 5.1.1 back,but it gives me error (-1).

But since apple still sign ios 5.1.1,so i try this method..

1. Do clean uninstall itunes 10.7.0.21,including registry in windows
2. Install itunnes 10.6.3.25
3. restore to stock 5.1.1
4. wait...and walaaaaa...its back to BB 04.12.01

So then i restore my unlock ticket,and things just fine...

Today marks the public release of iOS6! For those devices capable of running 6.0, the 5.1.1 SHSH blob signing window will soon close, so it’s very important that you backup your 5.1.1 blobs now while you still can. We advise you do it for every device you have (see tutorial sites like iClarified if you don’t know the process).

A few months back we released a redsn0w feature that lets you downgrade A5+ devices from 5.1.1 to anything lower (if you had saved blobs). Unfortunately once the 5.1.1 window closes, redsn0w’s 5.x downgrade feature will no longer work. Most A5+ users will not be able to downgrade. So if you’re an A5+ owner up at 6.0 when the 5.1.1 window closes, you’ll be stuck there without a jailbreak for now.
We’re happy to report there are some serious deficiences in the 5.x restore process that are permanently exploitable. They’ll never be fixable by Apple because they’re all self-contained in the 5.x IPSWs. Here’s the breakdown:

A4 devices and 3GS will always be downgradable (and jailbreakable) with saved blobs due to limera1n. The tethered iOS6 jailbreak for those devices (and untethered for old-bootrom 3GS) will be out when Cydia and other important pieces are all working properly.

iPad2 owners who have both 4.x blobs and 5.x blobs will always be able to downgrade to those versions, even once you come up to 6.0 and the 5.1.1 window closes (don’t do that yet though!). You need both 4.x and 5.x blobs to qualify for the 5.x downgrade even though you only wish to downgrade to 5.x (you need only your 4.x blobs to downgrade to 4.x)

iPad3, i4S (and iPad2 owners who don’t satisfy #2) will always be able to RE-restore the current 5.x OS that’s already on their device. So if you’re at 5.1.1 when the window closes (and you’ve saved your blobs), you’ll always be able to RE-restore to 5.1.1 again. This makes the 5.1.1 jailbreak a lot less fragile — you don’t have to worry about messing up your install with funky extensions or getting into a boot loop, because you can always RE-restore from 5.1.1 to 5.1.1 again (or from 5.0.1 to 5.0.1 again, etc). But once you fall off the 5.x train by restoring to 6.x, you’ll be stuck there until the next jailbreak.

Please be aware that RE-restores and iPad2 downgraded devices will always end up with the latest baseband (not the one that came with that firmware). So don’t go near any of this if your unlock depends on the baseband version.
All of these features will be released shortly in a new version of redsn0w. In the meantime please be sure you have your 5.1.1 blobs and stay at 5.1.1. Happy iOS6 day!
Update #1: For a refresher on why saved blobs are not as powerful as they used to be, please see our Blob ******* post (the scenarios described above are possible only due to mistakes made by Apple, but those mistakes are being cleaned up with each new firmware).

if your restore went thru to the loading firmware stage and then error -1 showed up all you need to do is go ahead and jailbreak even though it didnt complete the restore. So use DFU to and custom ipsw in itunes restore, it boots you out, do it again as it is in recovery mode, error 1618 its still gonna boot you out put in the process it resets important info, I also ran iReb and manually set auot-boot to true, then I went ahead and jailbroke. I have an iphone 4 gsm that went byebye 4 days ago, been working ever since finally got some where, I ended up having to restore to ios 6 because of recovery loop issues, missing firmware, im sure was do to a cracked app. Anyway been going at it to downgrade back down to ios 5.1.1 build 9B208 ever since. What I did do was create the custom ipsw by stitching my shsh blobs 5.1.1b in redsn0w 0.9.14b2 with the ipsw download build 5.1.1 9B208, put in pwd dfu and went to itunes. Then error 37? just to say dont try and use someone elses shsh files aint gonna work, then thru error 1600 with tiny umbrella, did the host file addon there, then ended up with error 3194 with iReb and while looking for that fix i came across what someone said to just go ahead and jailbreak, cause getting iRec to work is a pain, I know it, so I did. So here I am waiting on my phone to finish loading my "icloud" restore, thankful a few months old so no issues there, no ios 6 running around in that. And just to let you know I thought I was done for cause I couldnt find my shsh blobs, thankfully while my iphone was stuck in recovery loop I opened redsn0w and fetch and saved and sent while I had a connection. I also had to reset Internet explorer internet settings to default, and I did put a # sign in front of the ip of the gs.apple in the host cause it didnt work with out it. If anyone needs help I went thru a few thousand ways and will offer any ideas or help i can.

just glad to have my 5.1.1 back! and Cydia of course!

edit host file
Pwned DFU
run TSS server in tiny umbrella
Restore with Custom firmware
at last you will face 11 error and recovery mode
Put your device DFU & Jailbreak
At last you are at 5.1.1

Buy factory unlock, you can't unlock other way.

My phone is factory unlocked...its working fine with IOS6.

When downgraded to IOS 5.1.1..its showing "No Service" in the network...

Iphone 4 successfully downgrade factory unlocked phones

Important Need SHSH blob for ur phone

1-Open redsnow 0.9.14b2

2-Choose extras

3-choose shsh blobs

4-Choose stitch

5-Select ipsw 5.1.1

6-Choose local and Select ur blob which u saved in tiny umberlla

7-Now ur custom firmware will be created in same folder

8-Then put ur phone in dfu

9-Pwned ur dfu mode

10-Then open tiny umberlla and click start tss server

11-Open itunes and restore ur custom firmware

12-During restor itunes says -1 error dont panic in this stage

13-Just run redsnow 0.9.14b2 and jailbreak ur phone with deactivate option

14-U do not choose deactivate option in in redsnow means phone says no service

Enjoy with untether jailbrek

Best method,...

use Ifaith to create signed ipsw(ios 5.0.1) using your SHSH Blobs.. then use this firmware to restore your phone...

phone will be downgraded with any error...
