Apple has just seeded iOS 5.0.1 to developers. Apple has stated that the update will patch the battery drain issue in the iOS 5. Check out the change log after the jump. according to loopinsight

iOS 5.0.1 Change Log:

iOS 5.0.1 beta contains improvements and other bug fixes including:

Fixes bugs affecting battery life

Adds Multitasking Gestures for original iPad

Resolves bugs with Documents in the Cloud

Improves voice recognition for Australian users using dictation

Contains security improvements

iOS 5.0.1 beta introduces a new way for developers to specify files that should remain on device, even in low storage situations.

Apple has released iOS 5.0.1 to developers fixing the battery drain issue. Now we know that Redsn0w 0.9.9b7 also can jailbreak iOS 5.0.1.

Jailbreak iOS 5.0.1

First you will need

iOS 5.0.1 IPSW files – Download
Redsn0w 0.9.9b7 – Download

How to jailbreak iOS 5.0.1 Using Redsn0w 0.9.9b7?

STEP 1: Connect your device, sync it with iTunes then restore to iOS 5.0.1.
STEP 2: Open Redsn0w, click on Extras, then Select IPSW and point it to iOS 5 IPSW file.
STEP 3: Now hit back, then jailbreak and check on “Install Cydia”.
STEP 4: Follow the on-screen instructions to get your device in DFU mode.
