try checking out the 3 same looking IC right behind the camera socket.
if they are all working, all of them should connect to the other parallel side without battery.
If not then find a new one to replace it.

XD I am not good at explaining stuff.
I got it by testing with 2 board with the same problem with a good board. I haven't try out the solution since I haven't get my heat gun yet. But I am looking forward to changing those little guys as my first heat gun project. I have at least 80% confidence that those IC are the problem. If you think its a hardware problem then you can try testing them with a multimeter.

without battery both side should be connected like the red lines, if one of them is disconnected it can give you a distorted camera.
if they are broken you should find a replacement from another iphone and replace it.
Hope this can help some people that is still playing around with iphone 2g.
