Iphone 3G - GSM-Forum

I bought this used iphone 3g or 3gs I don't know, it has a black back cover that says 16GB. Anyway the BT and WIFI won't go on so I figured restore the iphone may solve the problem so I downloaded Itunes and tried to!

I got the 1015 error and Iphone went to recovery mode! I downloaded some app that tries to get iphone out of recovery for no use! I also downloaded tinyumbrella to set cydia off(for clean restore) but still the same when I try to restore, so I downloaded a custom ready JB firmware for 3G and got errors also I tricked itunes and replaced files but also got 1015 and recovery mode again!

Help me please to get out of this nasty stuck situation!

open tinyumbrella and click exit recovery.

just enter pwned dfu mode & restore Custom Firmware

I did try to exit recovery with tinyumbrella it just keeps turning off and on to recovery again! no use!

I don't understand how this is different from what I was doing, it will end up giving me 1015 error and back to recovery mide!

Bro Restore your 3g with 4.1 firmware (not custom Firmware)then use tinyumbrella for exit recovery,it's work

Ok Rahul,

I am downloading now this firmware:
4.1/8B117
Once it is downloaded I will use Itunes to restore it and the tinyumbrella to get out of
recovery. I will keep posted on what happens as soon as I'm done! THnX

Ok, so it worked!
Only now the phone is locked, I get the itunes icon with the cable and a slide that brings emergeny calls only!

Any ideas!?
