Iphone 3G 8GB refuse to Jailbreak and downgrade baseband - GSM-Forum

Hi,
I am trying to unlock an iPhone 3G 8GB IOS 4.2.1 Modem Firmware 5.15.04. I have been using redsn0w_win_0.9.6rc8 and redsn0w_win_0.9.6rc16 to Jailbreak and downgrade base band but it only keep going as far as the white screen you get when jailbreaking but on the phone screen goes dark. I dont see the hard drive symbol u normally see when the jailbrek is in progess.

Please I even down graded the IOS to 4.1 and try again but with same results. Yet I do other 3G and 3GS and it jailbreaks and unlocks fine.

Please advise.

simple just flash custom fw with bb 6.15,,,,,,,,,,,,,,

Try Fetching Ipad Basband Again If No Hope Then Basband Chip Damage And Need To Replace BB Chip

dear use only red snow . which u r using. select ipad baseband on it then jailbreake it. red snow will work rest of it. u have to take patience it takes time to fechting files also flashing baseband files in it. all will be ok. at last use cydia to unlock it.

use redsn0w_win_0.9.6rc7. for some reason anything newer crashes redsn0w on my computer.

Yes I do all that. When I select Jailbreak only it goes through fine and jailbreaks. But when I repeat the procedure and check only baseband, when it reaches "uploading logo" the iphone just goes dark. Usually I should start seeing an icon looking like a hard drive and stuff installing on the phone. But the screen is just dark with redsn0w say finish and complete.

I also tried redsn0w_win_0.9.6rc7 with same results.

I have now downgraded it to IOS 4.1 but same results. FRUSTRATEDDDDDDDD

Ok I went and tried it again today and it worked fine after downgraded to 4.1.
