how to recover the modem baseband??

hi all,i got 2-3 iphone 3gs,all of them when i tried to restore them to 4.1 or 4.3.5 i always got stuck at the end of the restoring procedure and couldnt finish it,so i was able to revive the phone using redsn0w and entering in pwned dfu mode and then by flashing the phone with a custom firmware, now the phone finally turns on and it looks like it works but:

1) it searchs for signal even though there is no sim inserted!!!!!
2) wifi doesnt work!
3) if i go to option and then general it doesnt give me any firmware modem baseband.

so now im stuck here, the phone is almost working but i still need to recover the baseband of the phone to complete the job.

is there anybody out there that could give me an hand by telling me how to recover the baseband?

thanks a lot in advance!
