iphone 3gs 4.2.1 - GSM-Forum

hi guys.my friend bought an iphone 3gs 4.2.1 he wanted to jailbreak it and unlock it but didn't work for him.he brought him to me .here what is very weird:
i tried to activate it with replacing lockdown folder in ifunbox but there isn't /private folder in it.than i tried to jailbreak it but in redsnow it won't reboot and in greenpoison i can't get him in dfu mode at all.any ideas?
