Iphone 3gs getting error 3194 while restoring

Hi, I was trying to undate 3gs from 3.1.2 to 4.2.1, but when I start got the error 1601 and recovery mode. Than every time I tried to restore the file got the error 3194. That I tried with custom file created with snowbreez 4.3 and restore have been done but set became black mean in dfu mode. Could not even bring back on any more. Now every time I coonect with itunes set shows dfu mode and when I try to restore same file says error 3194. Can any one help me how to keep the old baseband and restore. Please help.

Hi, you can try to restore it to iphone firmware 4.1 and then use TinyUmbrella to kick it out from recovery mode. (iTunes ERROR 1015)

Have a nice day! ;D

Error 3194 appear only when you restore the phone below 4.3.1...Try restoring it to the latest firmware the 4.3.1...Problem solve,I'm sure...

Just a few trick that helped me get out of Dfu mode on 3Gs.

1. You will be needing original firmware 4.2 and 4.1
2. latest Tinyumbrella 4.3
3. Redsnow 0.9.6b5

4.First put phone in dfu mode with redsnow or any other way.
5. Open Tinyumbrella and start Tss server only.
6. Open itune use shift and restore with 4.2 firmware.

Phone will restore but, will remain in Dfu mode after restore. That is Ok.

7. Close Tinyumbrella and open just itune and restore now with 4.1 firmware, you will get error 1015, phone will now be on recovery mode.

8. Open Tinyumbrella or IReb to exit recovery mode.
9. Jailbreak with Redsnow install baseband if needed and unlock on 4.1

same problem

I am having exactly the same problem, I have an iphone 3GS on 3.1.3 with BB 05.12.01. I have tried restoring it with multiple different firmwares including the latest 4.3.1 but that gives me error 1603 while "preparing iphone for restore" always results in error 3194. I have tried altering the host file to include Suariks link but it is still erroring out to 3194, Is this possibly a hardware fault and which component could be faulty if it is?

Try to uninstall iTunes using 3rd party SW Uninstaller, install Latest iTunes & be sure you have the original "hosts", or you can try upgrading it online.

try to change host file

First navigate to “c:\windows\system32\drivers\etc\” and open the ‘hosts’ file in notepad. To do so, right click on the file and select Open With->Notepad. At the end of the document, add this string 74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com . and save it !

Now connect your iPhone to iTunes and try again
