Iphone 3gs unlock problem - GSM-Forum

hi, dear users,
i have an iphone 3gs 3.1.2
modem 5.1.12
and i need to unlock

but i dont have cydia installed

i am trying to upgrade to 4 version to use new method but gives me error,

i try to flash with custom firmware 3.1.2 but gives me error, i tried in boot mode, and in recovery mode as well, always error,

i tried with 3.1.2 not custom and error
now only goes up in recovery mode

i need to unlock this phone as soon as posible
what do you sugest?,

First thing is do not upgrade!
Well ,
After you need jailbreak (you will have Cydia with that).
Try this Spirit.
After that you need Unlock so this

Aftre that you shoul have unlocked Iphone.

use spirit to add cydia in ur iphone then unlock with ultrasn0w

thanks for the reply my friend,
one thing, i downloaded spirit to do the job, but it doesnt recognises the iphone as mine doesnt boot, it is in recovery mode, and it seems it has to boot ok to be recognised by spirit, how can i make it boot if it is in recovery mode, i already tried switching power off and power on,

Does your Iphone being Recognised by itunes ,if is said recovery mode then you are in recovery mode.
Try this program to exit recovery mode
Download RecBoot for iPhone Recovery Mode
just pres exit.
after that you reset your iphone
How to reset:

1. Press and hold the power button at the top of the iPhone and the Home button beneath the screen at the same time.

2. After 5 seconds, it will ask if you want to power down. JUST IGNORE and keep holding down the two buttons.

3. After about 7 seconds, it will restart on its own (- actually reset.)
And continue JAilbreak+unlock.

to be able to restore with the same version you need to save shsh using tiny umbrella...use spirit as jailbreak tool...then unlock via wifi..
