|  iPhone 4 cannot restore because itunes is DOWN??? for the last two days still same Hello everyone any one of you guys have the same problem I had? I have iphone 4 that I need to restore because customer forgot the passcode. I been trying this since yesterday ( two days now ) but the itunes is keep on saying " The iphone " iphone " cannot be restored at this time because iphone software update servwer cannot be contacted or is temporarily unavailable " [COLOR=Orange][COLOR=White]I tried to research first and found different things to try... I tried with different computer (windows / I do not have mac ), I tried with different IP address ( thinking apple blocked my IP address ), I updated my itunes to 10.1.1 (highest version now ) but still NO LUCK at all  then I have a iphone 3G with 3.1 version so I have to upgrade it to 3.1.3 to better have the customers iphone capability of using his iphone, and I'm SHOCKED that this iphone 3G managed to make upgraded to 3.1.3 with no problem at all... and UNLOCKED successfully using SPIRIT. BUT THIS iPHONE 4 really cannot be restore at all using different methods, DFU or RECOVERY MODE not even single success at all as of now! By the way it is version 4.1 for sure because the CD on recovery mode is still silver color since the 4.2.1 version is already noticeable BLUE color CD on recovery mode. | Please kindly anyone can help me on this editing the HOST file from my windows XP? I just cant go where it is... please I want to try this procedure, thank you very much |

| to change file hosts go to :C:\WINDOWS\system32\drivers\etc and add this line in the end :74.208.10.249 gs.apple.com or u can just open umbrella and start tss note : maybe your costum firmware its dammaged or somethings..u can redownload other here: All Custom Firmware Download in one Place post the result or send me PM dont 4get to hit thanks if its work  Quote:
