I don't believe that upgrading or restoring the firmware could do that so it's not your fault - but it will be hard to prove it to your customer, especially if he wants to frame you...!

You can see the BASEBAND version in the ABOUT screen. What does it say? Also, the Bluetooth has no address, right? Does the WiFi has an address? I'm asking this because Bluetooth and WiFi share the same chip on the 3GS.

You might want to search for iRecovery (I believe it only works with 32-Bit OS). You can insert direct commands to the iPhone using iRecovery and eventually insert a new Bluetooth address.

In the end, a reflow is probably your only way out, but don't count on it (and BE CAREFUL):
YouTube - iPhone WiFi Repair: Oven Fix (Reflowing the PCB) - also works on iPod Touch

If you are going to disassemble the iPhone please send us some photos - I'm guessing that motherboard is all messed up.

You can use Limera1n to ACTIVATE the device - you just need to plug in the iPhone to your computer and put it in DFU mode so I believe that even that messed up iPhone can do that. Then try using iRecovery.
Honestly, I've never seen a iPhone recovering from NO BASEBAND, NO BLUETOOTH, NO WiFI... definitely not good news.
Good luck!
