iPhone 4 locked but no carrier?!?

Hi all,

Here is the story:
I have an iPhone 4 which is locked but here is the information that I get from a paid carrier check provider:

Your unlock code for your mobile phone IMEI : 012429003490817 has successfully been calculated.

Unlock Code : Carrier: UK Flexibile Apple Channel Default Activation Policy SIM Locked: Yes
=================================

Orders details
Order ID : 256750
Service Name : iPhone Checker 2 (To check which carrier and lock status)
Credit : 0.75

From what I have read in some forums - there is no was of unlocking of the phone.. I tried 2 different services (for O2 UK) on **** but it didn't work. You will ask "why O2 UK" - well that is what I have been told from a friend who is the owner of the phone.
Can anyone help and tell me what is the story with this iPhone?
Is there any way to be unlocked?

I know the story of this iphone. I can tell you.

Your i phone is locked with a flexible uk lock. That is a special lock, that can be loaded with a Carrier profile, but your is not loaded yet. I dont know if the providers can unlock this phone.

i also have a UK flexible locked iphone 4...

its an imported iphone, the seller is a criminal i guess, they sold it as netlock free then dissapeared with many money from many customers :-/

i now know in what shop they did buy the phones in uk, but what carrier it is bound to is not to be known. i am in germany, what can i do?

it can be a replacement for damaged unit. So there's no carrier
result. Erase the iphone from settings and try to activate it
using o2 sim card. This kind of unit cant be unlocked. But not
sure about unlock

try activating with any uk sim. It will get locked to that carrier. Do an blocked/barred check before activating. If clean then activate with o2 as o2 clean unlocks are cheap. If barred than activate with vodafone.right now uk vodafone barred unlock is cheapest.
