Member: 1263932 Status: Offline Thanks Meter: 181 | Yes I can confirm that. Unlock would work, but you have to jailbreak first. You have to downgrade to firmware 4.0 or 4.0.1 and jailbreak. Usually Apple doesn't allow downgrades of firmware. The only way to downgrade is by the use of saved shsh certificate. In Cydia, you can click "Make my life easier" to save the certificate on Cydia/Saurik's server to allow you downgrade later. Without Cydia, you can do that with TinyUmbrella tool. So do that every time a new firmware comes out to save the shsh certificate. After a new firmware comes out, you cannot downgrade or get the certificate to downgrade anymore. This time, fortunately, Apple is still signing 4.0.1. So all you need to do is: - Learn never to upgrade firmware if you want to jailbreak - Download firmware 4.0.1 (e.g. felixbruns.de) - Shift-click in iTunes on the restore button - Select the downloaded ipsw file - Jailbreak with Star - Unlock with ultrasn0w (Click thanks if this helped) |
